Each time you visit this page, you’ll find a differently randomized selection of my favorite musicians who performed at Organic Fest 2016. This event was very special to me because it was where I gave my first public stand-up philosophy performance, and it was also my first all-bass festival, so the following text is what I wrote about it on the original page I made for the event, the first of these efforts to make event lineups more accessible all in one place (tho I replaced that original page with this one in the new site format). ♥Neonn
Hey errvrybodayy, scope this fucking epic music lineup for Organic Fest!! Sooooo much cutting edge bass… this is seriously one of the most beautifully bass-stacked bills ever haha, & the venue is absolutely gorgeous! in a forest on a mountain with river running right thru it! ^^ And guess what? I’m giving my first talk at this event!!! I’m so honored to debut my performance philosophy with such innovative art-bass musicians playing the soundtrack! ** My one-hour workshop is called: “Who Deejays the Deejays? Curation as Meta-Art” ^^ [x
I’ll be drawing attention to the significance of Curation as the act of wielding the hammer of Art towards the shaping of society, by taking the audience on a journey that spans from prehistoric oral cultures thru the canonization of religious scriptures, the rise of literate industrial culture, coercive education & 20th-century mass media, emergent new age festival culture, & climaxing with some thoughts about the future of artificially intelligent content recommendation systems, & what Jason Silva calls the “engineering of serendipity” via augmented reality (i.e., contextually adaptive curation).
Along the way, We will explore the ways in which our various communication technologies have influenced the proliferation & Evolution of the dominant mythologies of each era in human history, & how the role of social engineering has Evolved along with society itself. Understanding Curation is a very helpful lense thru which to view the world; so I will be giving people a greater appreciation for the role of the Selecta, in literally every aspect of Culture, from food to fashion, from memes to music. Content is King, but Context is God. <3 [x
