“Fake Flowers is the first solo album I released. The project started as a noise tape I did with my cousin Ernesto Mercado around 1999 or 2000 when our band Anonymous Inc’s first album was being wrapped up. Initially, I wanted to make this album very limited but it ended up becoming a fully pressed, and released by Beyond Space Entertainment in 2004 (almost a year after its completion). Fake Flowers is old, lo-fi, sometimes immature and sometimes very weird, but it was an important step in my musical progression and I still have a lot of love for it now nearly 7 years after its release and nearly 12 years after its inception. Fake Flowers hasn’t been officially available in physical format since 2005.”

“Hi! And welcome. I’ve been collecting downtempo and ambient for over 25 years. Mixing since 2004. I have played as a resident DJ for my beloved Moontribe community and other fantastic crews of desert dancers, the delightful folks at Tropical and Lightning in a Bottle, and have had my mixes featured on several online radio shows and blogs. Starting in 2020 I created a Twitch channel where I feature several shows weekly, and I am the resident DJ for Behind the Sky music. People tell me amazing stories about how the music has touched them, and for that I’m eternally grateful. It’s the main reason I keep doing this – human connection through the universal language of music.
You’ll find mixes here to stream or download that are comprised of some of my favorite downtempo tracks, ever. Some are super-mellow and ready to accompany your bedtime/meditation/ snuggle session, while others might be happy to ride along on your next road trip. Tracklist on every mix.
